Vertical supply chain and total control

Zegna Baruffa is one of the few Italian textile companies to guarantee a completely verticalized supply chain, from the selection of the finest raw wools to the finished product.

Everything happens in Italy:

  • Selection of raw materials: certified extra-fine Merino wool from Australia, South Africa and New Zealand.
  • Washing and combing of the fibres.
  • Controlled spinning and twisting to ensure stability.
  • In-house dyeing with sustainable water management.
  • Final tests on finesse, regularity and behaviour in use.

Each phase is tracked and monitored to ensure consistent and verifiable quality over time.

Sustainability and certifications

The company has invested in a circular and transparent production model:

  • Closed-loop water treatment plants.
  • Use of certified renewable energy.
  • Packaging and logistics with reduced environmental impact.
  • OEKO-TEX®, RWS (Responsible Wool Standard) and ISO 14001 certifications.

The art of invisible thread

Zegna Baruffa yarns are loved by high-profile knitwear manufacturers because they combine technical fineness (less than 19.5 microns), a fluid and compact hand, and aesthetic and functional performance.
They are ideal for garments that need to maintain shape, stitch definition and softness even after numerous washes.
For this reason DianaStudio has chosen Zegna Baruffa as its partner of excellence both for theManufatto Italiano collection, using its yarns for the Mousse bouclé sweaters of the FW26 collection, and for some timeless garments from the essentials line (Wool-Cotton blend and Wool-Cashmere blend, which we will discuss in a dedicated article).

Conclusion: a label is not enough

Today, the term "Made in Italy" is everywhere. But how often does this label truly convey an honest supply chain, conscious manufacturing, and tangible quality?

For Diana Studio, Made in Italy is a daily practice, not a communication strategy. We don't just say where a garment was made. We want to tell the story of who designed, spun, hand-linked, and inspected it.

With the Manufatto Italiano capsule collection, we decided to set an internal standard. Each piece in this line is the result of technical, artisanal, and cultural choices, creating an object that will accompany the wearer over time.

We've chosen the finest yarns available on the market. We've avoided industrial shortcuts. We've built an internal supply chain that protects the value of the product, the people, and the local area.

True Made in Italy isn't just seen on the label. It's recognizable with the naked eye. And you can feel it. And we strive to promote it with commitment and total transparency.
